Firstly, apologies for the wait. We’d like to blame someone else for this, but the truth is the July deadline passed us by whilst we spent some well-earned holiday time with our nearest and dearest, so we’re not even that sorry!!!

We have been very busy the rest of the time though...

Living our values...

In May, we completed the delivery of a highly successful values-embedding programme for approximately 1,200 staff at a North London NHS Trust.

Following the fantastic reaction from our client and their staff, we are delighted to be in the process of developing and piloting a brand-new Bullying & Harassment product. This bespoke programme is being designed to reflect the breadth of the Trust’s activities and diverse working environments while illustrating the subtlety of behaviours which may (or may not) constitute bullying or harassment and signposting Trust employees to appropriate support where it is required.

In June we were delighted to attend and exhibit at Safety & Health Expo, we didn’t have time to meet all 14,000 delegates, but it did provide us with a great opportunity to meet new clients and catch up with old friends.

We were delighted to deliver a session at the Keynote theatre where we took a fresh look at the business-critical issue of Occupational Health*.

*The latest HSE report says that for every work place fatality, there were 111 deaths caused as the result of work-related health issues.

Our Learning & Development Director Matt Cleve delivered a seminar featuring elements of high impact drama and encouraged the audience to take the same uncompromising approach to managing work-related health issues as they do to eradicating safety hazards.

Customer excellence as standard

Apart from holidays in exotic climes (like Norfolk, Scotland and Wales), in July and August we were hard at work putting the finishing touches to our Customer Excellence Programme, for Edinburgh based, Cairn Housing Association.

The programme was designed to help create a culture where everyone is focussed on delivering excellence as standard. Our solution consisted of a series of live launch events, a modular course of film-based training packs for the team to deliver in-house, train-the-trainer workshops and a supporting communications campaign.

In September our Learning & Development Director and modern-day knight in shining PPE, Matt was on a quest for enlightenment. Travelling 4,000 miles to the National Safety Council Congress in Indianapolis he spent 7-days sharing ideas and learning from safety professionals from all over the world.

Behind the scenes

October found us hard at work in the North Light Film studios producing a film for one of our newest clients: Lloyd’s Register.

Having recognised that the solution to many of their safety challenges can be found within their own highly experienced team, they are keen to create a series of stories, where employees from all over the world make short selfie-style films to share their safety stories and impart invaluable advice to their colleagues.

We were delighted to be joined on the day by two local film graduates: George and Hollie. Both were keen to take up our offer to get some hands-on experience on a commercial film set and thoroughly enjoyed helping us during a challenging and ambitious shoot.

Employee Engagement with Essar Oil.

The benefits of an engaged workforce are widely known, and we’re working closely with the team at the Stanlow Oil Refinery to design and deliver a series of events and supporting resources to address this compelling challenge.

Leadership Development Programme with Kilnbridge Construction.

After having worked closely with our friends at Kilnbridge to develop their Safety Culture, we’ve been asked to design a long-term modular programme to develop their leadership team.

On tour with Magnox.

We continue to work with our long-term client Magnox UK as we set off on a nationwide tour to deliver Safety training to their management team.

A safety programme with a difference.

We’re at the early stages of working alongside our client Hanson Cement UK to create a series of live sessions, media-based training resources and a communication plan; all of which is designed to help Hanson create a World Class Safety culture.
